ALWAGHT- The Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s member-state leaders have denounced the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, stating in a joint declaration that the aggression threatens global peace and security.
The Bishkek Declaration condemned military strikes on Iran, saying they caused civilian casualties and economic damage while violating international law and the UN Charter. It warned that such actions pose serious risks to international peace, security, and stability.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) also called for reforms to the global financial system, rejecting unilateral sanctions and advocating for a more equitable, multipolar system less dependent on traditional reserve currencies. Leaders further opposed the exploitation of terrorist groups for geopolitical purposes.
The declaration stressed that the SCO is neither a military nor political alliance and is not directed against any third party. Member states also backed efforts to prevent an arms race in outer space and pledged to preserve the historical record of World War II.
The summit marked the SCO’s 25th anniversary and brought together leaders including Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Masoud Pezeshkian. Alongside the Bishkek Declaration, members signed 27 strategic documents covering security cooperation and the development of ports and logistics centers for 2026–2030.
