ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi clarified that ongoing talks in Oman concerning transit through the Strait of Hormuz do not amount to a full reopening of the strategic waterway.
Araghchi said talks in Oman are focused on establishing temporary transit routes through the Strait of Hormuz, with the designation of provisional paths based on maps provided by Iran’s armed forces nearing completion. He stressed that these arrangements do not constitute a general reopening of the strategic waterway.
The foreign minister said full reopening remains conditional on resolving violations of the agreement, particularly those attributed to the United States. He accused US forces of attempting to establish alternative routes and reaffirmed that Iran would not tolerate breaches of the accord or challenges to its authority over the Strait of Hormuz.
