German Media Allegations Rejected by Iran’s Embassy in Berlin

German Media Allegations Rejected by Iran’s Embassy in Berlin

ALWAGHT- Recent claims by some German media about possible assaults on Jewish locations have been firmly rejected by the Iranian Embassy in Berlin.

Recent developments have heightened tensions between Germany and Iran following the arrest of a Danish national, identified as Ali S., on suspicion of spying for Iranian intelligence. German prosecutors allege that he was tasked in early 2025 with gathering information on Jewish sites and individuals in Berlin, surveilling three properties in June as part of preparations for potential further intelligence operations, possibly including attacks on Jewish targets. The suspect was detained in Denmark and is set to be extradited to Germany to face charges, with the investigation supported by Germany’s domestic intelligence agency.

In response to the arrest and allegations, Germany summoned Iran’s ambassador in Berlin, Majid Nili Ahmadabadi, to express serious concerns over the espionage claims. German officials, including Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, condemned the alleged activities as a threat to Jewish life in Germany and emphasized their commitment to counter such threats. The incident has further strained diplomatic relations between Berlin and Tehran, with German authorities vowing a thorough investigation into the matter.

The Iranian Embassy in Berlin has strongly rejected the accusations, describing them as baseless and part of a deliberate campaign to distract from recent Israeli military actions against Iran. The embassy condemned the claims in the strongest terms and suggested that certain third parties might be manipulating public opinion through fabricated narratives. Iranian officials have previously warned German authorities about such attempts, stressing the importance of vigilance against suspicious and misleading stories.
