ALWAGHT- Israeli forces have killed at least four Palestinians in the West Bank as they broadened their lethal raids throughout the occupied territory.
On Friday evening, 19-year-old Adel Ahmed Adel Bashkar was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the Askar refugee camp near Nablus. He was struck in the chest, and despite being rushed to the hospital for treatment, he later succumbed to his injuries. This incident followed an earlier raid by Israeli forces in the Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm, where three Palestinian youths—Jihad Mahmoud Hassan Masharqa, 40, Muhammad Ghassan Abu Abed, and Khaled Mustafa Sharif Amer, 23—were killed. The Israeli military is reportedly withholding the bodies of the victims.
The Israeli military launched a significant offensive in the West Bank on January 21, shortly after a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas took effect. The military operations have displaced over 35,000 Palestinians, particularly affecting refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Far’a. According to the United Nations, around 90% of the residents in the Jenin and Tulkarm camps have been forced to flee. The UNRWA has described Jenin as a “ghost town,” with widespread destruction, while the UN Human Rights Office has criticized the ongoing violence as violations of international law.
Between February 4 and 10, Israeli forces killed five Palestinians, including a child, and injured 49 others, with eight children among the injured. Another two Palestinians were killed between February 11 and 13 in Hebron and Nablus. Additionally, Israeli settlers were involved in 15 incidents of assault and property damage, resulting in the injury of three Palestinians, including one child. These actions have further fueled the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
