UAE Condemns Netanyahu’s Comments on Establishing a Palestinian State in Saudi Arabia

ALWAGHT- The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has firmly denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks about the creation of a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Saturday, strongly condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia. The ministry denounced his comments as "unacceptable and provocative," asserting that they constitute a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter. It emphasized that Saudi Arabia's sovereignty is a "red line" that must not be crossed or infringed upon by any nation.

The statement also reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to Palestinian rights, rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people. It called for an end to Israeli settlement activities, warning that such actions threaten regional stability and diminish the prospects for peace and coexistence. The UAE's stance underscores its opposition to any proposals that would compromise Palestinian sovereignty or territorial integrity.

Netanyahu made the controversial remarks during an interview with Channel 14 while in Washington, suggesting that Saudi Arabia could host displaced Palestinians and establish a Palestinian state on its land. He linked the idea to security concerns, referencing the October 7 Hamas-led attack and equating Gaza under Hamas rule to a failed Palestinian state. Netanyahu also reiterated that he would not agree to any Saudi normalization deal that would endanger Israel’s security or lead to the creation of a Palestinian state within the occupied territories.
