ALWAGHT- Hamas has urged the World Health Organization and other international organizations to act promptly in delivering medical and healthcare aid to the Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Sunday, Hamas called on the World Health Organization and other global organizations to urgently send medical and healthcare aid to Gaza. The appeal comes amid a worsening health crisis in Gaza caused by Israel’s ongoing attacks.
Hamas also urged Arab and Islamic nations to establish a committee to support the people of Gaza. The movement condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza as crimes against humanity, genocide, and ethnic cleansing, criticizing the international community's response as a profound failure of the global system.
Earlier in December, Khalil Al-Daqran, a spokesman for Gaza's Health Ministry, highlighted the dire situation, stating that Israeli restrictions have prevented patients and injured individuals from leaving Gaza for treatment. He warned that the collapse of healthcare structures due to airstrikes has endangered 10,000 cancer patients, including 2,500 children, calling for urgent international intervention.
Al-Daqran added that for the past six months, no patients or injured individuals have been transferred out of Gaza for treatment, leaving many on a waiting list and further compounding the healthcare crisis.
