Beit Lahiya: Israeli Strike Kills Dozens of Palestinians

ALWAGHT- An Israeli airstrike on a multi-story residential building in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, has killed or injured dozens of Palestinians, according to medical sources.

Due to the insufficient number of paramedics, the exact death toll from the Israeli airstrike on Beit Lahiya remains unclear. Approximately 70 people were reportedly living in the targeted building, according to the Palestinian Civil Emergency.

Last month, the Israeli military deployed tanks to Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia, citing operations against Hamas fighters to prevent regrouping. These areas have been under siege for over 40 days, enduring relentless bombings, shelling, and surveillance by Israeli drones, with no access to food, water, medicine, or humanitarian aid.

In central Gaza, explosions have struck Nuseirat and al-Bureij refugee camps. Al-Aqsa Hospital reports 17 Palestinians killed, awaiting burial amid a shortage of coffins across Gaza. In Nuseirat, an Israeli strike on a house killed six people, including four women and a child, with more family members trapped under debris. Another bombing in al-Bureij left at least 10 dead, while locals report others still buried beneath rubble. In Rafah, southern Gaza, five Palestinians were killed in an eastern neighborhood airstrike. Israeli forces have also demolished dozens of homes in the Jabalia refugee camp.

Israel’s assault on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, following Hamas' Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, launched in response to Israel’s long-standing violence against Palestinians. The ongoing conflict has left 43,799 Palestinians dead, mostly women and children, and 103,601 injured. Thousands remain missing, presumed dead under the rubble. Israel has blocked essential supplies like food, medicine, fuel, and tents, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. Gaza’s infrastructure, including water systems, sanitation facilities, and bread mills, has been systematically destroyed.
