ALWAGHT- Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations revealed detailed plans for a calculated response to the Israeli regime following the assassination of the Hamas chief in Tehran, stating that Iran's reaction will completely catch the Zionist regime off guard.
In a statement to The Wall Street Journal, Iran’s UN mission emphasized that any response must effectively punish the Israeli regime and deter future attacks while being “carefully calibrated to avoid any potential adverse impact on a prospective ceasefire.”
“The timing, conditions, and nature of Iran’s response will be meticulously planned to ensure maximum surprise; perhaps when their focus is on the skies and their radar screens, they will be caught off guard from the ground—or possibly through a combination of both,” the statement said.
Earlier this month, the mission confirmed that the retaliatory action would take place regardless of ongoing ceasefire talks in Gaza.
Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was in Tehran for the new Iranian president’s swearing-in ceremony, was killed in an Israeli operation in the early hours of July 31.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has vowed a "harsh response" to Haniyeh's assassination, calling it the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the Palestinian resistance leader's death.
