ALWAGHT- The Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, congratulated Iranian president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian on his election victory. He reaffirmed Hezbollah's support for Iran, praising the nation as a strong pillar for the resistance.
In a message on Saturday, Nasrallah congratulated Pezeshkian on his victory in the Iranian presidential election.
The Hezbollah secretary general also wished the Iranian president-elect a successful term in office, expressing hope that Pezeshkian would fulfill the aspirations of the "sacrificial and loyal" Iranian people.
Nasrallah emphasized that Hezbollah and all resistance movements in the region, "who have for many years been engaged in open confrontation with Zionist occupation forces" and the American hegemony project, view the Islamic Republic of Iran as their central support.
He noted that this stance has been maintained since the triumph of the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, and continued under the guidance of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the successive governments.
Pezeshkian, a physician-turned-politician, won the Iranian presidential runoff election on July 5 with 53.66% of the votes.
His new administration, the 14th since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, will serve for the next four years.
