Pregnant woman and 10 children among those killed in Israel’s airstrikes in Rafah

Pregnant woman and 10 children among those killed in Israel’s airstrikes in Rafah

ALWAGHT- The Israeli military launched new airstrikes in Rafah, resulting in the martyrdom of at least 16 individuals, including a pregnant woman, in the densely populated southern Gaza city.

According to Palestinian media, a father, daughter, and pregnant woman tragically lost their lives when an Israeli airstrike struck their family residence in the al-Shaboura camp in central Rafah.

The pregnant woman, who was taken to Kuwaiti hospital, had already passed away, but medical personnel managed to save her unborn baby, as reported by medics.

Another Israeli aerial attack targeted a residence on George Street, located east of Rafah, resulting in the martyrdom of five Palestinians, including four children, and causing injuries to several others.

In a separate strike conducted by the Israeli military, eight individuals, including five children, were killed in the Palestinian city.

Rafah, situated along the Gaza Strip's sealed southern border with Egypt, is home to approximately 1.5 million Palestinians who have been displaced due to Israel's US-backed campaign of violence against the territory.

Initially designated by Israel as a "safe zone," Rafah is now facing the threat of a full-scale military assault, leaving its inhabitants in a state of fear with no refuge to seek.

The ongoing attack has heightened concerns of further bloodshed against Palestinians and has elicited condemnations from around the world.

Israel launched a severe military campaign in Gaza on October 7, following a significant operation by the Palestinian Hamas resistance group in response to heightened Israeli aggression against the Palestinian population.

To date, the Tel Aviv government has reported martyring over 34,049 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injuring 76,901 others.
