Iran, Culturally-Related Nations Celebrate Nowruz

Alwaght- Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev have exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of Nowruz, a common spring festivity in the two countries and the arrival of the Persian New Year, according to IRNA. 

The presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan congratulated each other on Nowruz and wished prosperity, health and happiness to the people of the two countries, IRNA's foreign policy group cited an announcement posted on the official page of the Iranian Embassy in Baku.

The presidents also emphasized the need for strengthening relations and friendships between the two neighbors, the report said.

Also, the foreign ministers as well as other state and military officials of the two countries congratulated their counterparts on Nowruz in separate messages.

After Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan hosts the longest observance and number of public holidays days related to Nowruz, with a total of 5 days from 20 March to 24.

Today, Iran and a number of other countries with cultural bonds to Iran have celebrated Nowruz, which coincides with the start of the spring.

In addition to Iran, a set of countries including Azerbaijan, Iraq, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, and others celebrate Nowruz.
