Western Pressures on Moscow Stoking Direct Military Conflict: Ryabkov

Alwaght- The Western pressures being stepped up on Russia are dangerously balancing on the edge of a direct military conflict between the two nuclear poles, according to deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.

He added that “the response measures that we had to take, which included the important aspect of protecting the external security contour on the western axis, have been used by our adversaries as a pretext to start putting military pressure on Russia."

He further lashed out at the NATO members for choosing to pursue “non stop malicious expansion and efforts towards military and geopolitical absorption of territories in the zone of Russia’s essential interests in an assertive way.”

He also blamed the West for fueling the crisis and not letting it to find a solution.

“Meanwhile, today’s crisis is far from being resolved and is posing a major risk of further escalation,” Ryabkov concluded.

So far several parties, including China and Turkey, have proposed ceasefire initiatives for Ukraine war, but the West, topped by the US, each time refused and instead supplied further weapons to Kiev.

Russia has repeatedly said it is ready to discuss with Ukraine a solution and accused the West of perpetuating the war.
