IRGC Aerospace Force Unveiled First Hypersonic Missile

IRGC Aerospace Force Unveiled First Hypersonic Missile

Alwaght- The Aerospace Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has unveiled a hypersonic missile named Fattah (Conqueror).

The Iranian hypersonic missile has a range of 1,400 kilometers, hits speeds of Mach 13-15 and can breach and destroy all anti-missile shields.

The unveiling ceremony was held on Tuesday morning in the presence of Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi, Chief Commander of the IRGC Major General Hossein Salami, and the Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh.

The precision-guided missile also features excellent maneuverability and stealth ability to pass through radar systems.

With a solid fuel propulsion system and a second-stage mobile nozzle, the missile has the ability to reach very high speeds and perform various maneuvers in and out of the Earth’s atmosphere in order to overcome all types of air defense systems.

Addressing the unveiling ceremony, Hajizadeh said Iran is now among only four countries that have the technology to manufacture hypersonic missiles.

Unlike other types of missiles, Fattah cannot be countered by any defense system, he said, adding that the hypersonic missile cannot be destroyed by any missile due to its movement in various directions and heights.

“Our activities in this field do not end with the manufacturing of this missile. We will continue this path so that no enemy even imagines attacking Iran,” the IRGC commander asserted.

Hajizadeh further said that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has supported and approved the missile activities, noting that Ayatollah Khamenei chose the name "Fattah" after he had been presented with a report on the missile's development.

Missiles are for deterrence: Raeisi

Addressing the same event, President Raeisi said that Iran has today a deterrence power that also contributes to the security and sustainable peace of regional countries.

“Some may ask ‘What is the purpose of manufacturing missiles?’ They are for deterrence, for defense,” he added.

“We build missiles so that we do not suffer from aggression by the enemies and so that we have the power that the enemies would not even think of an act of aggression against the Islamic Republic.”
