ISIS Attack Mosque in Afghanistan Killing Six Worshippers
Alwaght- ISIS terrorists have attacked a mosque in Eastern Afghanistan killing six worshippers and wounding four others.
According to reports, ISIS terrorists fired a rocket that landed on a mosque in Achin District of eastern Nangarhar province.
Governor of Achin District said that the incident took place in Pandola area Friday afternoon.
He said dozens of people were at the mosque to offer prayers when a rocket hit the mosque.
Those wounded in the incident have been admitted to hospital for treatment, the governor said.
Achin District, a mountainous area which shares a border with Tirah valley of Pakistan, is a stronghold of ISIS group in Nangarhar province.
The district witnessed several ISIS-organized attacks most recently in which hundreds of militants were killed but the group is still believed to have nearly 1,000 fighters there.
United Nations revealed on September 25 that ISIS terrorist group is recruiting militants in 25 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces.
“The number of groups and individuals who are openly declaring either loyalty to or sympathy with ISIS continues to grow in a number of provinces in Afghanistan,” the report said.
Recently Afghan authorities said at least 300,000 children have been banned to attend school in Nangarhar due to threats posed by ISIS terrorists in the area.
