Alwaght- Saudi regime has released billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal on Saturday after taking him into custody for more than two months.
Reuters cited sources in Talal's family as saying that "He has he arrived home,” on Saturday.
Prince Alwaleed had been confined at the Ritz-Carlton since early November, along with dozens of others, part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s so-called “anti-corruption campaign.”
The royals have been asked to fork out hefty ransoms reaching billions of dollars in some cases. Alwaleed is one of the world’s richest men with assets valued by Bloomberg at $19bn.
Mohammed bin Salman was reportedly demanding that Alwaleed sign over ownership of the entire Kingdom Holding Company.
The money is thought to be needed to finance Salman's ambitious Vision 2030, which seeks to decrease the kingdom's dependence on oil.
