ALWAGHT- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that BRICS plans to welcome additional full members to the organization in 2025.
When asked about BRICS' influence globally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov explained, "It impacts internal developments, as people aware of BRICS’ accomplishments and initiatives are eager to engage in this fair, mutually beneficial alliance."
Lavrov noted that in the Global East, citizens primarily support politicians advocating closer ties with BRICS. “Several countries are seeking full membership, and this will be reviewed throughout next year,” he added.
Lavrov also highlighted that "many are interested in BRICS events," with over 30 gatherings planned. He shared that after the Kazan summit, Russia invited several countries with consensus from BRICS members to join as partner countries. “Once we receive a response, these countries will be announced as BRICS partners, with access to all events,” Lavrov stated.
A format for full members alone will likely be maintained, while other sessions, such as the Outreach Plus and ministerial meetings, will be open to partner countries. “We want partner countries actively involved and participating in almost all BRICS activities,” he concluded.
