ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has rejected the prospect of talks with the United States, describing negotiations as futile and accusing Washington of repeatedly taking hostile action against Iran during periods of dialogue.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said talks with the United States are meaningless, arguing that Washington has repeatedly launched attacks against Iran following negotiations. He said Iran’s opposition to dialogue stems from what Tehran views as repeated violations of commitments, along with sanctions, threats, and other pressure.
Pezeshkian also called for stronger ties with Armenia across trade, science, culture, and technology. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan welcomed the progress in bilateral relations and said Yerevan remains committed to expanding cooperation with Tehran despite sanctions.
The remarks come amid renewed tensions following US and Israeli strikes on Iran and subsequent Iranian retaliation. Tehran has accused Washington of violating a ceasefire and a later US-Iran memorandum, while continued attacks have prompted further Iranian military responses.
