Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met with Pakistan Senate Chairman Seyed Yousaf Raza Gilani in Tehran, where Gilani attended ceremonies honoring the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Ghalibaf thanked Pakistan's parliamentary delegation for its visit and expressed appreciation for the Pakistani government's and people's support during the recent US and Israeli war against Iran.
Gilani extended condolences over the martyrdom of the late Iranian leader and recalled his long-standing ties with Iran, noting that he had visited Tehran on several occasions, including for the funeral of Imam Khomeini and during his tenure as Pakistan's prime minister.
The Pakistani Senate chairman also praised Iran's achievements in diplomacy and resistance, expressing optimism about the country's future and its role in promoting regional peace and stability. He underscored the importance of expanding parliamentary cooperation and strengthening people-to-people and official exchanges to deepen bilateral relations.
