Iran’s president-elect pledges to make every effort to strengthen ties with Syria

ALWAGHT- Iran's President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian has spoken with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad by phone, assuring that his administration will make every effort to further enhance the strategic relationship with Damascus.

During a phone conversation on Wednesday, Pezeshkian stated that the relationship between Iran and Syria is built on a solid foundation, and enhancing bilateral cooperation is a strategic policy of the Islamic Republic.

"Our primary goal is to continue this strategy robustly and to further solidify the relationship between our nations."

He highlighted existing cooperation agreements between the two countries and emphasized his commitment to implementing these pacts.

"The policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the guidance of our Leader, are focused on supporting Palestine, the resistance movement, and Syria as our strategic ally,” he said.

“I hope the unity and friendship between Iran, Syria, and all Islamic countries will grow stronger each day."

Assad congratulated Pezeshkian on his electoral victory and wished him success in his significant national role.

"The relations between Iran and Syria are very strong, founded on mutual support during challenging times; just as Syria supported Iran during the imposed Iran-Iraq war, Iran supported us during the imposed internal conflict in Syria," Assad said.

He emphasized that the relationship between Iran and Syria is a key factor in resisting foreign dominance in the region.

"With your cooperation, we will work to further strengthen and solidify this relationship," Assad added.
