Russia’s Dedication to Honoring and Enforcing Agreements with Iran

ALWAGHT- During a meeting with Iran's acting Foreign Minister, the special assistant to the Russian President underscored the strong commitment of Russian officials to executing and actualizing the agreements made by the presidents of both nations. He remarked, "We intend to link the North-South Corridor with other corridors, thus boosting cooperation between Iran and Russia in the transit sector."

Ali Bagheri, the acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, attended the BRICS Foreign Ministers' meeting in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, and met with Igor Levitin, the special assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, today (Monday, June 10). At the outset of the meeting, Bagheri expressed his gratitude for the messages, phone calls, and visits from the Russian Foreign Minister and other officials to the Iranian Embassy to offer condolences and sympathy for the martyrdom of the President and the Foreign Minister. He emphasized the late Ayatollah Raisi's commitment to developing and deepening strategic relations between Iran and Russia in various fields, and reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran's determination and resolve to continue and strengthen this approach.

The acting Foreign Minister also stated, "We will leverage all our capacities to implement the strategic projects between our two countries that serve our mutual high interests." Bagheri highlighted the urgency of accelerating the Rasht-Astara railway project and maximizing the potential of the eastern section of the North-South Corridor. He noted, "The progress and completion of these corridors are driven by national will and determination, and this approach will continue into the future."

The special assistant to the Russian President reiterated his condolences for the martyrdom of the President and the Foreign Minister, emphasizing the strong commitment of Russian officials to implementing the agreements made by the presidents of both countries.

He also mentioned his upcoming visit to Iran to oversee the progress and completion of strategic projects between the two countries, including the North-South Corridor. He stressed that Russia aims to link the North-South Corridor with other corridors to enhance cooperation between the two nations in the transit sector.
