Alwaght- Syrian army managed to capture a key region in the northern city of Aleppo as terrorist groups retreat.
The Syrian national army launched a major offensive in a strategic neighborhood on the southwestern outskirts of Aleppo on Wednesday, forcing terrorist and militant groups to withdraw from the region.
During the offensive, army took control of the strategically important region of Hikmah area near the recently captured 1070 Al-Hamdaniyah Housing Project.
Terrorists had attacked the area recently in a bid to break the army line around the Aleppo.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian army forced the terrorists of Jaysh Al-Fateh to withdraw south of the Hikmah School after pounding them repeatedly with mortar and artillery shells.
It took several hours to approach the Hikmah School after the withdrawal, however, once they were able to clear the area of any mines or IEDs (improvised explosive device), the Syrian forces established full-control over this strategic site.
Following the capture of the Hikmah School this morning, the Syrian forces made their first push towards the Rashiddeen 5 Suburb that is located south of the aforementioned site - clashes are currently ongoing.
