Alwaght- Iranian Resistance Film Festival awarded the head of Yemeni Ansarullah movement as the Resistance Figure of 2016.
Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, head of Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Mohammad Reza Naqdi, the commander of the Basij paramilitary forces presented the award which was received by Abdollah Marvani, al-Houthi’s representative in Iran.
Marvani thanked the festival for “uncovering the truth” and said “in a time when the media are trying to belittle the people and masquerade the executioner as the victim, the Resistance Festival is doing a valuable work. While the US and the Israeli regime are the real enemy”.
“We believe and have faith that the Resistance Film Festival has a major role in uncovering the truth,” he said.
The weeklong 14th Resistance Film Festival ended on Friday in Tehran’s Milad tower where awards were granted on different categories.
The goal of the Festival is to create an atmosphere of dialogue, understanding of current human sufferings, and to share experiences and new ideas.
The three-fold mission is to:
1- Create an atmosphere of dialogue by recognizing activists and filmmakers.
2- Foster the human spirit of brotherhood, peace, and resisting oppression.
3- Use the language of film to fight terrorism and violence.
Filmmakers around the world are welcome to submit documentaries, short and feature, and animated films relevant to the festival topics.
