Alwaght- Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday Saudi Arabia knows no limit in killing Yemeni children, women and the injured, after Saudi warplanes struck a MSF (Doctors Without Borders) hospital in neighboring Yemen.
The violent attack in Yemen’s Hajjah province claimed lives of at least 25 people and injured some 20 others.
Bahram Qasemi condemned the attack and stressed that the international community’s silence on Riyadh’s destruction of hospitals and schools is the reason behind Saudis' ceaseless atrocities in Yemen.
“The terrorist-sponsoring and warmongering regime of Saud knows no boundaries and limits to killing children, women, the injured and civilians," Press TV cited the top Iranian diplomat as saying.
The Ansarullah movement, which rules the capital Sana’a, also condemned the attack, saying it was carried out in clear violation of a ceasefire agreement which has been holding across Yemen over the past four months.
The UN also the attack on the MSF hospital, and voiced it worries over a spike in child casualties over the last week in Yemen.
On Sunday, Saudi warplanes targeted a school and other locations in the northwestern province of Sa'ada, killing several civilians, many of them children.
"The children who were killed were between the ages of six and 14, and the majority were between six and eight," said UNICEF's Yemen representative Julien Harneis.
He also noted that the humanitarian situation in the country was severely deteriorating, adding that “you have got this real pressure cooker with a collapsing economy and a collapsing health system."
"If the health system and education systems collapse then for years after the war ends, the country will be vulnerable to things like pandemics, and you will have lower education rates which is going to hamper the country for years, if not decades," he added.
On Sunday, king of Saudi Arabia bin Abdulaziz gave one month's extra pay to the regime's army and security personnel who have been actively involved in military aggression against neighboring Yemen.
Salman Ordered the extra pay upon his arrival as he returned home after a month-long holiday in Morocco.
State news agency SPA said that Saudi king ordered a month's salary for staff in the Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the National Guard who are "actual participants in the front line of the Decisive Storm and Restoring Hope Operation," referring to Saudi-led coalition war on Yemen.
The Saudi aggression against Yemen began in March 2015 in a bid to reinstate Yemen’s resigned president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh, and undermine the Ansarullah movement.
About 10,000 people have been killed and at least 16,000 others injured since the onset of the aggression. The Saudi strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
