ALWAGHT- According to an Iranian military source, Tehran has initiated a phased strategy to target regional energy and water infrastructure should US military attacks on Iran persist.
The Iranian military source said Tehran has begun implementing a phased plan to target regional energy and water infrastructure in response to what it described as US strikes on civilian infrastructure in Iran. The source warned that power plants and water desalination facilities in Kuwait have been added to Iran's list of potential targets if US attacks continue.
The announcement followed reports by Iranian authorities that US strikes hit power facilities, water pumping stations, bridges and communications infrastructure in Hormozgan Province, disrupting water supplies in parts of southern Iran. Officials also reported damage to infrastructure in Bushehr Province.
The Iranian Embassy in India said US missiles struck electrical infrastructure and desalination pumps at a pier in Jask County, disrupting drinking water supplies to several nearby villages. Iranian authorities said they are assessing the damage and investigating the incident.
