Ayatollah Khamenei: Revenge Is Inevitable as People Demand Justice

ALWAGHT- Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei vowed that retaliation for the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will be carried out, while praising the tens of millions of mourners who gathered across Iran and Iraq for funeral ceremonies.

In a message released during the funeral and burial of his father, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei vowed that those responsible for the assassination of former Iranian leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei would be avenged, declaring that retaliation is inevitable and reflects the will of the Iranian people. The statement came as tens of millions of mourners gathered across Iran and Iraq.

Describing his father as a follower of Imam Hussain's path, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei said his martyrdom had awakened the Islamic Ummah and renewed the ideals of the Islamic Revolution. He praised the massive funeral processions in cities including Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad.

He pledged to preserve his father's legacy and continue his path, while asserting that Iran possesses the identities of those it holds responsible for the assassination. He warned that the perpetrators would not escape accountability and would never achieve a peaceful end.

Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei also said the mission of retaliation does not depend on any single individual and would continue regardless of who leads Iran. He concluded by honoring his father and those martyred alongside him, describing them as martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the path of Islam.
