“We Will Never Surrender to Any Power,” President Declares

ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has pledged that Iran will never yield to external pressure or sacrifice its national dignity for the sake of convenience or political gain.

President Pezeshkian vowed that Iran will never bow to any power or sacrifice its national dignity for comfort or worldly interests, though he stressed that the country must still be governed with prudence and wisdom. He said Iran's adversaries, having failed to bring the country to its knees within three days, are now trying to sow division between the Iranian people and their leaders. He condemned the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as unjust and lacking any scientific, legal, or humanitarian justification, and accused Iran's enemies of targeting commanders, ministers, scientists, and students while self-proclaimed defenders of human rights remained silent. He also criticized American media for justifying genocide in Gaza as self-defense.

On February 28, the United States and Israel initiated an unprovoked war against Iran with the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking military commanders. In response, the Iranian Armed Forces carried out 100 waves of counterattacks over 40 days, targeting US and Israeli military assets and causing significant damage. A Pakistani-mediated two-week ceasefire was brokered on April 8, but the Iranian delegation returned to Tehran without an agreement due to deep mistrust over Washington's willingness to honor its commitments. Iran has made clear that any return to ceasefire negotiations depends on the lifting of the US naval blockade, which officials say constitutes a violation of the truce.
