Pezeshkian: Colonialism Has No Role in the Future World Order

ALWAGHT- President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran declared that colonialism and exploitation will find no place in the future world, reiterating Iran's commitment to broadening ties based on mutual respect and common interests.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on X on Friday that Iran's definite policy is to expand friendly relations based on mutual respect and common interests, declaring that colonialism and exploitation will have no place in the future world. He emphasized that Iran's identity is rooted in both tolerance—embedded in the culture of its people—and resistance to oppression, a principle that shines throughout the nation's history. This dual identity, he stated, will continue to elevate Iran's name on the world stage.

Pezeshkian's message comes as Iran has withstood two imposed wars by the US and Israel over the past year, including a February 28 aggression that killed over 3,000 Iranians and damaged civilian infrastructure. Iran's Armed Forces responded with devastating strikes on US and Israeli military assets, while Tehran imposed strict control over the Strait of Hormuz, blocking aggressor vessels. Despite a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire, the US has enforced an illegal naval blockade on Iranian maritime traffic since April 13, prompting Iran to refuse reopening the strategic waterway until the blockade ends, even as Tehran continues reviewing the latest American proposal to end the war.
