IRGC Continues Military Drills in The Strait of Hormuz for A Second Day

ALWAGHT- The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is continuing naval drills in the Strait of Hormuz for a second day, highlighting round-the-clock “intelligence dominance” over the strategic waterway.

The IRGC is holding naval drills titled “Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz,” focusing on rapid-response units practicing counter-strikes against potential threats. Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri said Iran maintains constant surface, air, and subsurface surveillance to ensure safe passage for dozens of vessels transiting the waterway daily.

He described Iranian islands in the strait as “impenetrable fortresses” and symbols of national honor, noting that the first phase of the exercises was successfully carried out across Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf a day earlier.

The drills are taking place amid heightened regional tensions and US threats against Iran, alongside increased American naval deployments near Iranian waters. They also coincide with a new round of indirect nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington in Geneva.
