ALWAGHT- Iran's National Security Council Secretary calls for strong measures to repress rioting and protect citizens and property.
The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, has called for decisive action against elements causing insecurity, violence, and property damage during recent riots across multiple cities in Iran.
In an interview with IRIB, he stated that while there have been legitimate protests against economic difficulties, a destructive and organized current has stepped in to incite violence and divert attention from the original issues at hand.
Larijani warned that such violent actions resemble those of terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) and would only harm society, upset security, and lead to economic stagnation. Violent rioters have vandalized public and private properties, injured people, and attacked administrative buildings and police stations in various cities across Iran.
