ALWAGHT- Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s special envoy on Afghanistan, held talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Sunday.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, reported on Sunday that Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs, Mohammad Sadiq, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran to discuss bilateral and regional issues.
Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to strengthening and expanding relations with Pakistan, citing close cooperation between the two countries’ leaders over the past two years. Sadiq thanked Iran for hosting the regional meeting of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries and Russia, highlighting hopes that it would support peace and development in the region.
The high-level regional meeting in Tehran brings together officials responsible for Afghan affairs from Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Russia. Iran’s Foreign Minister is scheduled to deliver a speech at the summit, which focuses on the latest developments in Afghanistan.
