ALWAGHT- President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that Iran’s growing peaceful nuclear program is focused on improving national welfare rather than pursuing weapons.
President Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking to senior officials at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is designed to improve public welfare through advancements in healthcare, medicine, and radiopharmaceuticals. He rejected claims that Iran’s nuclear activities are tied to bomb development, asserting that only a small part of the global nuclear industry relates to weaponization.
Pezeshkian said Western powers are spreading misinformation to hinder Iran’s technological progress and maintain their dominance by denying independent nations access to advanced technologies. He reiterated that Iran has no intention of pursuing nuclear weapons, noting that this stance is backed by a binding religious decree from Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
The president also honored the Iranian scientists killed during the June conflict with Israel and the United States, calling their work a form of “scientific jihad.” He stated that Iran’s armed forces successfully halted the aggression through retaliatory operations targeting US and Israeli positions, which he described as a lawful response to unlawful attacks on Iranian soil.
