ALWAGHT- Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi warned Trump that no leader can claim to be a “President of Peace” while fueling wars and siding with war criminals.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, accusing him of being misled by false claims that Iran’s peaceful nuclear program was close to weaponization this spring. Araghchi called these claims “a big lie,” stressing that there is no evidence to support them, as confirmed by the US intelligence community.
Araghchi also condemned the United States’ historical alignment with Israel, describing it as the “real bully of the Middle East” and accusing it of drawing America into perpetual wars while undermining nuclear diplomacy with Iran. He argued that Trump cannot credibly claim to be a “President of Peace” while supporting war criminals and engaging in actions that have previously killed thousands of Iranians.
Despite the criticisms, Araghchi emphasized that Iran remains open to respectful and mutually beneficial diplomacy, responding to goodwill with goodwill. He added that while Iran rejects being used as a pretext for regional normalization with Israel, the United States and its allies must take full responsibility for their actions toward the Palestinians and the broader Middle East.
