PIJ leader: Resistance Willing to Negotiate, But Will Not Surrender

ALWAGHT- PIJ leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah states that the Resistance is open to negotiations on limited terms, criticizing aspects of Trump’s Gaza plan as equivalent to surrender.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah said the Resistance is prepared to negotiate on specific issues, highlighting the prisoner-exchange clause as a key priority. Speaking on the second anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, he emphasized that the Resistance is simultaneously engaged in intense military and diplomatic battles, insisting that they will not surrender while fighting to protect Palestinian rights.

Al-Nakhalah stressed that the Resistance’s willingness to negotiate is conditional, focused on ensuring any prisoner exchange meets agreed criteria and preserves the Resistance’s leverage. He condemned former US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan as an attempt to enforce Palestinian surrender, asserting that Palestinians will not capitulate to Israeli or allied demands and must emerge from negotiations with dignity.

Commemorating two years of steadfastness, al-Nakhalah praised the Palestinian people and Resistance factions for their resilience, stating they continue to resist Israeli attacks. He also noted ongoing indirect ceasefire talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, coordinated with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and the US, with Hamas engaging constructively to ensure a lasting truce, full Israeli withdrawal, prisoner release, and reconstruction under Palestinian oversight.
