ALWAGHT- Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Tehran is ready to respond to any Israeli military action, warning that such a move would provoke a firm and decisive reaction.
Speaking at a press conference in Beirut on Saturday after meeting Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Larijani downplayed speculation of a potential Israeli strike on Iran. “We are prepared for all scenarios, but I do not believe the Israelis will act irrationally. If they attack, we will respond firmly,” he told reporters.
He also praised Hezbollah as a genuine resistance movement, highlighting the importance of its political role in improving the living conditions of the Lebanese people. Larijani described the resistance as a strategic asset for the Islamic world, emphasizing Hezbollah’s strength as a force opposing the Israeli regime. “Lebanon may be a small country, but its youth’s determination makes it strong against Israel. Hezbollah holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims,” he said.
Addressing claims that Iran directs Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem, Larijani clarified, “We do not give orders to anyone. Sheikh Naim Qassem is a respected leader who decides what is best for his movement. We support his approach.”
