ALWAGHT- Hamas hailed Turkey’s move to shut its airspace to Israeli planes and curb trade with Tel Aviv, calling it a strong stand against Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Hamas praised Turkey’s decision to cut trade ties with Israel and close its airspace to Israeli aircraft, calling it a strong stance against the ongoing “genocide” in Gaza. The group urged other Arab and Islamic countries to follow Turkey’s lead by severing relations with Israel, isolating it internationally, and holding its leaders accountable for crimes against humanity.
The statement came after Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced in parliament that Ankara had fully suspended economic and trade relations with Israel and banned Israeli planes and ships, accusing Tel Aviv of carrying out genocide in Gaza for the past two years. Hamas also welcomed Malaysia’s call to expel Israel from the United Nations, urging other nations to push for sanctions and suspension of Israel’s membership.
Meanwhile, Gaza is experiencing worsening famine under the Israeli blockade. Over half a million Palestinians are already facing starvation, with projections that the number could surpass 640,000 by next month. At least 132,000 children under five are at risk of acute malnutrition, and more than 320 people—including 121 children—have already died from hunger and related conditions.
