Araghchi Stated That the Damage to Fordow Was Extensive

ALWAGHT- According to Iran’s Foreign Minister, precise information about what occurred at the Fordow nuclear site is not yet available. However, he believes the damage is significant. Meanwhile, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) is assessing the situation and will provide a comprehensive report to the government.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, emphasized that despite significant damage to the Fordow nuclear facility from recent attacks, Iran’s nuclear technology remains intact because it is deeply embedded in the country’s scientific expertise. He stated that while the physical infrastructure may be damaged, the knowledge and determination to advance Iran’s nuclear program ensure that recovery and progress can happen quickly.

Araghchi acknowledged that the exact extent of the damage at Fordow is still under evaluation by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and no precise information is yet available. He also confirmed that Iran’s enrichment capabilities are indigenous and resilient, aligning with the International Atomic Energy Agency’s assessment that Iran could resume enrichment within months if it chooses to do so.

Reiterating Iran’s commitment to a peaceful nuclear program, Araghchi highlighted the national pride associated with their nuclear achievements despite years of sanctions, sabotage, and political setbacks. He stressed that Iran has no intention of pursuing nuclear weapons, which are forbidden by the Supreme Leader’s fatwa, and called on the international community to recognize Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy.
