ALWAGHT- A senior advisor to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, disclosed that Israel had planned to strike a high-level gathering of Iranian officials, including government heads, and subsequently assassinate the Leader. However, the plot was successfully thwarted.
Ali Larijani, former Iranian Parliament speaker and senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, revealed that Israel’s war plan aimed to simultaneously target IRGC commanders and key national centers to pressure Iranian officials into abandoning the regime. He disclosed that Israel attempted to intimidate various Iranian officials, including himself, with threats of assassination, but Iran responded firmly. Larijani dismissed recent US attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites as symbolic and highlighted Iran’s powerful missile retaliation against US bases in the region.
The Israeli regime launched an unprovoked 12-day aggression against Iran on June 13, assassinating senior military commanders and scientists, which triggered Iran’s retaliatory Operation True Promise III targeting Israeli strategic sites. The US later officially joined Israel’s attacks by bombing Iranian nuclear facilities, violating international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iran responded by striking the largest US military base in West Asia in Qatar, leading Israel to unilaterally cease its aggression on June 24, after which Iran also halted its counterattacks following 22 waves of strikes.
Larijani accused the US of using indirect talks with Iran as a cover for military aggression coordinated with Israel, describing the diplomatic efforts as deceptive. He emphasized that Israel’s assassination attempts and military strikes have failed to weaken Iran’s leadership or resolve, with new leaders ready to take the place of any who are lost. Iran continues to prepare for future responses to Israeli provocations, maintaining a posture of deterrence and vigilance over the ongoing conflict.
