Alwaght- While the US President Donald Trump had earlier claimed that with halt to Iran's nuclear program whether through diplomacy or military force the world will be safer, after the US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday, the international community has strongly condemned this aggression, warning about consequences of this dangerous adventure.
Reacting to the American attack, the UN chief Antonio Guterres said that there is an increasing risk that this conflict will slip out of control and leave dire consequences on the civilians, the region, and the world. He added that Trump's use of force against Iran is a "dangerous escalation" that will push the region to the brink. "There is no military solution. The only way ahead is diplomacy."
A spokesman to the Chinese Foreign Ministry said: "China strongly condemns the United States attack on Iran and the bombing of the International Atomic Energy Agency-supervised nuclear facilities."
For its part, Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement on the American aggression, saying that Moscow condemns the attack on Iran, adding that it was a " irresponsible decision." Saying that the UN Security Council should respond to the American attack on Iran. "Grossi should provide an unbiased report during the emergency meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency."
Pakistani government said it condemns in strong terms the illegal anti-Iranian military action, saying it is a blatant violation of all international legal norms. "The Islamic Republic has the legitimate right to self-defense."
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said it was "deeply concerned" about the American attack on the Iranian nuclear sites. "We call on all sides to show responsible behavior and quick stopping of the reciprocal attacks and taking steps that steer clear of destruction and loss of further lives."
Soft and passive reaction of Arab countries
Arab countries that for decades have hosted the American forces have been passive in dealing with the US attack on Iranian nuclear sites. It was only Saudi Arabia that officially condemned the attack. The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that Riyadh follows the situation with concern after American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
"We call on the international community to double its efforts to ensure a political solution to end the crisis in these sensitive conditions. We condemn the violation of Iranian sovereignty and call for self-restraint, peace, and avoiding escalation," the statement held.
Qatar maintained that "we are following the developments. The current dangerous tensions in the region have catastrophic consequences regionally and internationally."
The Iraqi government spokesman said that attacks on Iranian nuclear sites pose a serious threat to the security and peace in the region.
The UAE expressed deep concern about military escalation in the region, especially the American attack on nuclear facilities. Abu Dhabi called for immediate halt to conflict and return to diplomatic path.
"We follow with concern the regional developments after the American attack. Kuwait also calls on full stop to all forms of escalation and military action and start of dialogue," Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry stated.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that the tensions bear serious consequences for regional and international peace and security.
Oman called for immediate de-escalation, adding that bombing Iran by the US risk expansion of war and is a "serious violation of international laws."
President Joseph Aoun pf Lebanon said that Beirut is worried about escalation as a result of attacks on Iranian nuclear sites. He said that this action jeopardizes security in the region and the world. "We call for self-restraint and start of constructive and serious talks to restore peace to the region and avoid further killings and devastation."
Latin American pro-Iranian stances
Despite the soft standings of the Arab countries towards the American aggression, Latin American states have been strong in their condemnations. Venezuelan government described the American attack "aggressive, illegal, unjustified, and highly dangerous." The country's foreign ministry added the attack was irresponsible escalation that can have dire consequences for global stability.
Cuban President Miguel Duaz-Canel maintained that his country strongly condemns the American attack on the nuclear facilities that can result in a dangerous escalation in the Middle East. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said the strike was a "criminal and irresponsible action" that violates the international laws and has severe consequences.
Bolivian President Luis Arce Cstacora for his part condemned the attack, saying that this American hostility not only endangers regional and international stability, but also violates the fundamental principles of the international laws.
Chilean Foreign Ministry stated that it condemns attacks on Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahab nuclear sites, adding that they pose a serious for regional and international security. President Gabriel Boric Font of Chile said " attacks on nuclear plants is banned under international laws."
Colombian Foreign Minister Lora Arabia stated: "Peace can not be made by missiles. Colombian President Gustavo Petro said that attacking Iranian nuclear program sets fire to the Middle East.
Mexican Foreign Ministry published a statement, saying it calls for diplomacy for peace and for de-escalation in the region.
Axis of Resistance stands with Iran
Resistance groups in the region have condemned the American criminal action in the strongest terms, stressing on Tehran's right for response.
Political Office of Ansarullah Movement of Yemen said that Sana'a strongly condemns this American crime. "Aggression on Iran is an obvious violation of all international laws and conventions. Mohammad al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Ansarullah Political Office, said that "responding to the US is a matter of time. We respond to any aggression targeting us or any other Islamic country. Arab and Muslim nations should act since the United States seeks to change the whole region. Iran had not requested our intervention in favor of them and we will not wait for their request. Our agreement with the US was for the time before the war on Iran."
Hamas movement in a statement announced that "we condemn with the strongest terms the violation of Iranian soil and sovereignty. The American aggression is a dangerous escalation, a blind obedience of the agenda of the occupiers, and a blatant violation of international laws. We voice our solidarity with Iran, its leadership, and its people and announce our full confidence in their capability to defend their sovereignty.
Also, the Islamic Jihad condemned the American aggression and called it a declaration of war on Iranian people. The resistance movement said the US is the "archenemy of the regional nations and is a sponsor of Zionist terrorism." The movement added it was confident the Islamic Republic is strong enough to defend its legitimate rights and fully support Iran and nations that are facing occupation and aggression and warn against the the American plots to dominate the region.
