ALWAGHT- Two US officials have stated that the US military will be consolidating its presence in Syria in the coming weeks and months.
Two US officials informed Reuters on Tuesday that the US military plans to consolidate its presence in Syria over the coming weeks and months, potentially halving the number of troops stationed there.
Currently, approximately 2,000 US troops are deployed across several bases in Syria, primarily in the northeast.
One official, speaking anonymously, indicated that the consolidation could lower troop levels to around 1,000. Another official confirmed the reduction plan but noted that the exact number of troops to be withdrawn remains uncertain.
