Journalists Martyred and Injured in Bombing of Press Tent in Gaza

Journalists Martyred and Injured in Bombing of Press Tent in Gaza

ALWAGHT- The Israeli occupation continues its assaults on the Gaza Strip, resulting in numerous casualties, and has committed a serious offense against journalists by targeting their tent in Khan Younis, located in the southern region of the Gaza Strip.

Early Monday, an Israeli airstrike hit a tent for journalists near the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killing Palestinian journalist Hilmi al-Faqawi and a young man, Yousef al-Khazindar. Several journalists were injured in the attack, including Ahmed Mansour, Hassan Islayh, and others. The bombing drew widespread condemnation from Palestinian media organizations.

The Palestinian Media Union and journalist advocacy groups decried the targeting of media professionals as a deliberate war crime. They called for international accountability, stressing that attacks on journalists violate humanitarian law and aim to suppress coverage of Israeli actions in Gaza. These organizations mourned the loss of al-Faqawi and praised the resilience of journalists reporting from the conflict zone.

Meanwhile, Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip continued, killing civilians, including women and children. In Deir al-Balah, six members of the Ghurab family were confirmed dead, with more missing under the rubble. Additional airstrikes in Khan Younis and Gaza City claimed several more lives. Despite being declared a "safe zone," tents sheltering displaced Palestinians were also bombed, as the violence shows no sign of abating.
