ALWAGHT- The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman dismissed US officials' claims of readiness for negotiations, stating that Washington's sanctions prove the falsehood of their statements and demonstrate their continued hostility toward Iran's development, progress, and welfare.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei strongly condemned the latest US sanctions targeting Iranian officials, including the Minister of Oil, as well as several oil tankers and commercial companies. He dismissed US claims of readiness for negotiations, calling the sanctions further proof of Washington’s falsehood and hostility toward Iran’s development and welfare.
Baghaei criticized the US for its continued reliance on sanctions and pressure against independent nations, labeling it a violation of international law and a threat to global peace and security. He accused the US of deliberately disrupting Iran’s economic and trade exchanges, asserting that Iran holds Washington fully responsible for the consequences of such unilateral and illegitimate actions.
Praising the efforts of Iran’s oil industry workers, Baghaei described the sanctions against the Minister of Oil as absurd and contrary to international norms. He reaffirmed that these actions would not weaken Iran’s national determination to uphold its independence, dignity, and pursuit of progress and prosperity.
