Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in Moscow, signaling a new chapter in bilateral relations. The agreement focuses on enhancing economic ties, addressing customs tariffs, banking challenges, investment guarantees, and easing trade and visa processes. Both leaders emphasized strengthening cooperation within frameworks like the Eurasian Economic Union and addressing shared concerns, including combating extremism and terrorism. Pezeshkian expressed optimism about deepening ties to serve mutual interests and fostering regional stability through joint efforts.
The presidents highlighted the significance of their countries' membership in organizations like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS, aiming to boost regional convergence.
