ALWAGHT- The US and UK have conducted multiple airstrikes on targets in Sana’a and other regions of Yemen in retaliation for the country’s operations against Israel.
Yemen’s al-Masirah television, citing an anonymous security source, reported that early on Sunday, four airstrikes hit the Jarban area of Sanhan district in Sana’a province. US and UK military aircraft also struck a location in the Haffa area of the same province, though details were limited.
Shortly after, two additional air raids targeted Harf Sufyan district in Yemen’s ‘Amran province, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage. These incidents follow a joint US-UK airstrike on al-Garrahi district in Hudaydah province hours earlier.
Yemenis have openly expressed support for Palestine’s resistance against Israeli occupation, especially after Israel’s war on Gaza began on October 7 last year, resulting in at least 43,552 Palestinian deaths. Yemen’s armed forces have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel’s assaults on Gaza end, targeting over 90 Israeli-affiliated vessels with missiles and drones since October 2023.
The Ansarullah movement has stated its focus on vessels linked to Israel, the US, or the UK to pressure an end to Israel’s war on Gaza. In October, the US deployed B-2 stealth bombers to conduct strikes in Yemen in support of Israel.
