NAM Nations Condemn Israeli Aggression Toward Iran

ALWAGHT- The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has condemned the Zionist regime for its aggression against Iran, stating that the recent attack on the Islamic Republic constitutes a serious violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement on Monday night, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), comprising 121 countries, strongly condemned the recent Israeli strikes on Iran that resulted in the deaths of four Iranian military personnel and one civilian. The NAM also denounced the violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as Israeli airspace was unlawfully used to carry out this aggression against Iran.

Expressing deep solidarity with the Iranian people and government, the bloc reiterated that the attack violated fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4, which prohibits the use of force against a country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. NAM emphasized the right of Iran and other affected nations to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with international law.

The NAM called for the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibility by explicitly condemning the Israeli aggression and taking necessary measures to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, the bloc expressed ongoing concern regarding the lack of accountability for Israel’s violations against Palestine, Lebanon, and other regional nations, underscoring the need for Israel to adhere to international law and face consequences for its actions.

The full statement from the NAM Coordinating Bureau condemns Israel’s deliberate act of aggression against Iran, categorizing it as a serious violation of Iran's sovereignty. The bureau also expressed condolences to the families of the victims and reiterated the importance of holding Israel accountable for its actions, which threaten regional and international peace and security.
