Funeral for IRGC General Martyred in Beirut Takes Place in Tehran

ALWAGHT- A funeral procession for Brigadier General Abbas Nilforooshan, a senior IRGC commander who was martyred alongside the secretary general of Hezbollah in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on September 27, took place in Tehran on Tuesday.

A large crowd gathered for the funeral of General Abbas Nilforooshan at Imam Hussein (AS) Square in Tehran on Tuesday morning.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Brigadier General Esmaeil Qaani, IRGC Quds Force Commander, Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, and Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, Commander of the IRGC Ground Force. The martyr will be laid to rest after the final funeral service in Isfahan on Thursday, October 17.

General Nilforooshan, a senior commander of the IRGC Quds Force and an adviser in Lebanon, was declared martyred in an Israeli attack that struck several residential buildings in the densely populated southern suburb of Dahiyeh in Beirut on September 27.
