ALWAGHT- The top-ranking commander of Iran has urged for the complete implementation of an agreement with Iraq concerning the disarmament and relocation of terrorist groups hostile to Iran in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
During a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday with Iraqi Minister of Interior Abdul Amir al-Shammari, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri underscored the necessity for collaborative efforts against terrorist and secessionist factions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
He reiterated that the agreement between Tehran and Baghdad, which involves disarming terrorists based in the KRG and relocating them to controlled camps, must be fully implemented.
Commending the cooperation between Iranian and Iraqi border guards, the senior commander highlighted that rigorous measures against drug and arms trafficking would enhance border security and facilitate the advancement of bilateral trade relations.
