ALWAGHT- Iran has released an additional seven crew members of the Portuguese-flagged ship MSC Aries, which was seized by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in mid-April.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Road and Urban Development in Iran declared the release of seven additional crew members of the MSC Aries. Their release was facilitated by diplomatic endeavors led by the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization, with the endorsement of relevant judicial bodies. The crew members, comprising five individuals from India, one from Estonia, and one from the Philippines, have since departed for their home countries.
The Ministry also indicated that the remaining crew members are still present on board the vessel and have the opportunity to engage with their countries' consular and diplomatic representatives in Iran. Earlier this month, Iranian authorities released a female sailor, leaving 17 crew members still aboard the ship.
