Alwaght- Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri has met Hamas Political Bureau head Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Friday.
They discussed Gaza developments as the Israeli war on Gaza continues.
General Baqeri hailed the unwavering Palestinian resistance to the Israeli aggression for over six months, adding that "with the Grace of God, Palestine will see liberation of the holy Al-Quds one day."
He stressed the Palestinian position in the Iranian strategy and vowed that support to the Palestinians cause will continue.
"Palestinian cause has been among the main strategies and goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran since the Islamic Revolution, and it will undoubtedly continue with all its might," he told Haniyeh.
Major General Baqeri said that the unique operation of October 7 was a big operation that brought an irreparable defeat to the Israeli regime, adding that" this promising operation destroyed the myth of the invincibility of the criminal Israel and made Palestine the top headline not just in the Muslim world but the globe."
The general described the operation unique in terms of its intelligence, design, and the element of surprise.
"If the Americans had not helped the Zionist regime, the collapse would have happened by now, and what the Zionist regime was able to respond to was killing innocent people, women, children, destroying hospitals, and unleashing famine and starvation," he maintained.
For his part, Haniyeh thanked Tehran for its support to the Palestinian struggle for liberation of occupied lands.
He said that the Iranian support is a source of motivation for the Palestinians to continue their resistance until liberation.
He remembered the support offered to the Palestinian caused by General Qassam Soleimani, the top anti-terror general who was assassinated by the Israeli backer the US in Baghdad International Airport in 2020.
"Martyr Soleimani's efforts to make the the cries of the oppressed of the world heard and and deter the global overbearing powers cannot be forgotten," he added.
At the end, Haniyeh thanked Iran's Supreme Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian government, and the army and IRGC commanders for their support and attention to the Palestinians.
