UN Warns Rafah Invasion Would Push Gaza "Deeper into the Abyss"

Alwaght- The Israeli bombardment has killed 13 women and children in Nusrairat refugee camp in central Gaza, Aljazeera reported.

The Qatari broadcaster also reported that in the north an infant and a young woman died of malnutrition, taking the number of the known starvation death to 25.

The deaths in Nusrairat came amid heavy pounding of the camp overnight by the Israelis.

The spokesman to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah in centeral Gaza has urged the international community to bring in medicines and fuel. He said that more that 37 bodies and 118 wounded have arrived over the past hours.

"We cannot receive such injuries due to the lack of space and medical supplies...The bombing of the central governorate and al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis continues since yesterday," he further said.

He further said that most of the hospitals nearby are out of service.

The Israeli attacks on central Gaza come as the Israeli army prepares to invade Rafah, the last shelter of 1.5 million displaced civilians. International calls have been warning that an offensive of the southern city in Gaza can be catastrophic more than what the world has so far seen in the besieged enclave.

So far, over 30,000 Palestinians, mainly women and children have been killed in Gaza by the Israeli regime on the strength of the Western, mainly US, support.
