Iran Powerful Thanks to Armed Forces Unity: IRGC Navy Cmdr.

Alwaght- Iran owes its military might to the unity of the armed forces, said commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear General Alireza Tangsiri.

General Tangsiri made the comments as he attended a ceremony celebrating National Day of Air Defense.

“Today, the air defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army has the most up-to-date and well-equipped systems, and it is an undeniable fact that our armed forces have the superior air defense power in the region, and the enemies know this well,” the general was quoted by Fars News Agency (FNA) as saying.

He held that the Iranian deterrence is a fruit of the unity among the armed forces under “the instructions and wishes of the commander-in-chief” [Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei].

“This solidarity and unity between the armed forces is a reason for the satisfaction of the Supreme Leader and the pride of the great nation of Iran,” he went on.

He further maintained: “Due to the great effort and trust in the capabilities of young people and domestic scientists, we have gone beyond the scope of rhetoric and entered the field of practice and experience and have become a power in the region and the world.”

In recent years, Iran has made major advances in air defense industry. The peak of the its air defense breakthroughs was Bavar-373 anti-aircraft and missile batteries.

Its air defenses have proven their capabilities in action. On June, 2019, 3rd Khordad air defense shot down stealth American RQ-4A Global Hawk BAMS-D surveillance drone after it violated its airspace over the Persian Gulf.
